Hi, everyone:
I've been experimenting with those stick-on nose strips as an anti-snoring device. They really seem to work! Me and the missus are still sleeping separately, but we've had a few nights where we make it about halfway through the night before separating. The lack of snoring is a definite improvement
Anyone have a similar experience? Anything else I could try (the strips are kinda expensive if you use them every night).

Re: Breathe-Right nose strips...?
Fri, June 18, 2004 - 12:56 AMRight, when the snoring gets cut back it's much better, and, as you said, some solid four-hour co-bedding sessions can be pulled off.
It all depends, by the way, if the snoring is due to sleep apnea or allergies. On the sleep apnea, it's serious, but I don't know what to do about it. On the allergy thing, there's a new non-antihistamine, non-decongestant called Nasalcrom mist, which, unlike the others, had no rebound effect. It works on a totally different theory, preventing allergies rather than treating them once they're started. By the way, also home-made saline mist by itself is great, like a 50th of a teaspoon of salt with water in an empty sprayer. But stay away from antihistamine and decongestant sprayers, they have a rebound effect that totally messes things up. At last, and this is slightly more risky, one can go full nasal steroid, although after a while one gets odd infections and has to get off the stuff. But it does the same thing Nasalcrom does, but way more. I think it's called Beconase. -

Mon, June 21, 2004 - 12:29 PMHey, thanks for writing back - I'll check out the Nasalcrom.
Forgot to mention that I also recently got a "night guard" made for my teeth. Apparently I was grinding them all night long...

Breathe-Right nose strips...?
Wed, June 23, 2004 - 2:55 PMI've got a few friends who also use that because they were wearing out their teeth with the night grinding. I wish I could be like Data on Star Trek and just shut myself off at night with an automatic re-awake pre-set.
